It is with profound sorrow that we announce that Yayoi Kusama passed away at a hospital in Tokyo on August 14, 2026, at the age of 97.<\/p>\n
Throughout an extraordinary lifetime devoted entirely to artistic creation,
\nKusama pursued an internationally acclaimed career as a pioneering avant-garde artist
\nwhose creative practice encompassed visual art, performance, fiction, and poetry.
\nShe continued to paint until her final days, never setting aside her brush,
\nand remained steadfast in her lifelong belief that love can save the world.<\/p>\n
We will carry forward Kusama’s wishes and, through art, continue to bring hope and strength for the future to people around the world.<\/p>\n
Please note that the exhibition KUSAMA\u2019s POP will continue as scheduled through August 30. <\/p>\n
